Thanksgiving Healthy Eating Tips

You know what they say, “Don’t go shopping hungry,” well Thanksgiving is no different.  Don’t come to the dinner table hungry

·         Fill your plate half with veggies, one quarter with meat and the rest with starches

·         Limit your side dishes with smaller portions

·         Make substitutions with foods like sour cream and chicken broths and instead use yogurt or fat-free items

·         Drink at least 8oz of water an ½ hour before dinner to reduce over indulgence.  Drinking water will add a sense of fullness

·         Skip seconds, there is always tomorrow

·         Eat breakfast and have your normal fruit and vegetables snacks to reduce over eating when the main event begins.

·         We all love pie but the pie crust is where all the calories are so explore; find recipes that maybe gluten free, dairy free or fat free and cut some calories

Enjoy and indulge responsibly so your fitness regime doesn't have to include restarting your fitness goals and ending up having to buy new workout clothes.
